Phyllis Rabun

After a brief hospital stay, Phyllis Johnson Rabun passed away peacefully on Friday, November 29, 2019 at the age of 67. She is survived by her husband, Ron Rabun, 3 children, Laura Cada, Jennifer Dodge and John Rabun, as well as 5 grandchildren. Phyllis was the daughter of Ralph and Edith Johnson of Durham, NC. She received her Associates Degree in Journalism from Centenary College for Women, in Hackettstown, New Jersey, her Bachelor’s and Master’s Degree from the University of Georgia. She was a beloved teacher in public schools, worked at CBS News in New York, an Executive Director for an education foundation and as a travel agent. She was a dedicated wife, mother, grandmother, and a friend to all who knew her.

Visitation with Family will be Thursday, December 5th at First Baptist Church of Blairsville (296 Blue Ridge Street, Blairsville, Georgia 30512), beginning at 1:00 pm, followed by a memorial service at 2:00 pm. ***Services will be held in the “Rock Chapel”.

Flowers may be sent to the church before 12:30 pm on Thursday, December 5th or you may choose to make a memorial contribution to the American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals at https://secure.aspca.org/team/pjr-campaign-jqhzxdey/, in honor of Mrs. Rabun.
