Randy Eugene Jones, 66, passed away in his home in Griffin, Georgia on Nov 22nd, 2019. Born in Griffin on January 14th, 1953. Randy was the son of Chester and Jeannie Jones and the fourth of their six children. He graduated from Griffin High in 1971 and continued his education at the University of Georgia. He enjoyed sports throughout his life, but he excelled at football, baseball and basketball. He played quarterback for the Griffin High football team and was active with student government and his peer community.
He was the co-founder and co-owner of multiple T-Bones Steakhouses around the southeast. This popular, Athens originated, restaurant led to many friendships and a lifetime of stories. Another of his great loves of his life was music. He played a number of instruments, but his favorites were the guitar and harmonica. He wrote music throughout his life and this love for music led to creative friendships with a number of renowned bands, including R.E.M., Widespread Panic, Ralph Roddenbery Band and Barbara Cue. Randy loved traveling and adventure. He was lucky enough to visit dozens of countries around the world. He lived a portion of his life in Waipio Valley, Hawaii and moved back to Griffin to be with his family and to take care of his mother in her last years. He was deeply loved by his friends and family for his cleverness, sensitivity, quick wit, compassion and so much more.
He is survived by his loving wife Elizabeth Jones, sons Walker and Mitchell Jones, step-daughter Anna Patton and his siblings; Richard Jones, Ronnie Jones and Maryann Jones.
A visitation will be held at Conner-Westbury Funeral Home from 11 am to 12:30 pm on Tuesday, November 26th.
