Mr. Robert Blackmon, Jr, age 78, of Griffin passed away on Friday, June 2, 2017 at Eternal Hope Hospice.

Mr. Blackmon was born in Griffin, Georgia on February 18, 1939. He is preceded in death by his father Robert Lee Blackmon and mother, Margie Ruth Williams Blackmon. He retired from the City of Atlanta, Water Shed Department after 26 ½ years, a longtime devoted member of The Shiloh Baptist Church, Milner, Georgia.

He is survived by his loving wife of 55 years, Ruby K. (Peggy) Blackmon; his children, Robert Anthony Farley and his wife Sharla of Orchard Hill, John Robert Blackmon and his wife Evette of Hampton, Steven L Blackmon and his wife Tomika of McDonough, Rodriquez Blackmon and his wife, Stephanie of East Point; 8 grandchildren; 4 great grandchildren, sisters, Margie Ruth Hickman of Griffin, Mary Nell Blackmon of Griffin, Patricia Lawrence of Griffin; brother, Larry Blackmon and his wife Pat of Griffin; a host of nieces, nephews and other relatives.

A visitation for Robert Blackmon, Jr will be on Wednesday, June 7, 2017 from 6:00 pm until 8:00 pm at Conner-Westbury Funeral Home. A funeral service will be conducted on Thursday, June 8, 2017 at 12:00 noon at Shiloh Baptist Church, 198 Van Buren Road, Milner, Georgia 30257. Interment will follow in the church cemetery.
