Robert Burke

Bob Burke was born May 9, 1928 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Bob and his brother Hub were raised at Girard College, a private boarding school in Philadelphia for fatherless boys.

After graduating in 1946, he went into the Army during World War II and served in the Philippines. He was honorably discharged in October, 1947.

After working for many years at Standard Office Supply in Norfolk, Virginia, he started his own office furniture business, Burke Commercial Furnishings. He ran this business for 30 years and retired at 89 years old.

Bob and his wife, Sharon moved to Griffin, Georgia in 2019 and lived in Sun City until his passing on January 2, 2024.

Bob is survived by his wife of 41 years, Sharon. Daughters, Debbie McCracken, Patty Burke and Betty Ann Patton, sons Bob and Jim Burke and David Allen. Grandchildren, Brook McCoy, Sarah McCracken, Haley Cunningham, Elizabeth McCoy, Ben Patton, Tyler and Sydney Burke, Drew, Luke and Lydia Allen. Great grandchildren Thane and Max McCoy, Greer McCoy and Jay Cunningham.

A celebration of life will be Saturday, May 4, 2024 at 2:00 pm at Oak Hill Church, 100 Lakeside Road, Williamson
