Mr. Robert “Cootie” Nix, age 78 of Zebulon, Georgia, passed away on Thursday, April 19, 2018.
Mr. Nix was born in East Point, Georgia on June 10, 1939. He is preceded in death by his parents, Robert Nix, Sr. and Meedie Yarborough Nix; son in law, Curt Watson; sisters, Ruth Martin, Betty Harper and husband Charlie. Mr. Nix was self-employed as an Electrical Contractor with D & N Electric. He is a member of Griffin First Assembly, was an honorary member of the Marine Corp League, loved drag racing, working on old cars, working with his cattle and enjoyed eating breakfast at Ruth’s with his buddies.
He is survived by his wife, Cherry Armstrong Nix; daughter, Kelly Nix Watson; son, David Nix, Sr. and wife Lisa; grandchildren, Reverend David Nix, Jr. of Florida, Mary Kate Nix, Hannah Watson; brother in law, Matthew Armstrong; nieces and nephews, Amanda Armstrong, Matthew Armstrong and wife Charity, Paula King, Kathy Martin, Larry Harper and wife Kathy, Jennifer Davidson and husband Tom, Holly Harper and husband Steve Jennings, Ronnie Harper.

A visitation for Robert Nix will be Saturday, April 21, 2018 from 6:00 pm until 8:00 pm at Conner-Westbury Funeral Home. A funeral service will be conducted on Sunday, April 22, 2018 at 4:00 pm at Griffin First Assembly. Mr. Nix will lie in state at the church from 2:00 pm until 4:00 pm. Dr. Randy Valimont will officiate.
