Robert Terrance Nutter Sr

Robert “Bob” Terrance Nutter was born in Queens, New York, on October 1, 1937, to the late Franklin and Jessie Harris. He had two sisters, Marsha and the late Sarah Nutter and one brother, the late Larry Nutter. Bob passed away on Friday, November 29, 2019, at Southern Regional Medical Center in Riverdale, GA.

Bob was educated in the public schools of Pennsylvania and upon graduation in 1955, he enlisted into the Air Force. After his honorable discharge from the Air Force, he accepted a job at the Pennsylvania State hospital. He later relocated to Hartford, CT, where he worked as a Mental Health Specialist for the State of Connecticut. Bob retired after thirty years of dedicated service. 
In 1984, Bob met the love of his life, Ms. Shirley Sabastian. After a long courtship, they united in holy matrimony in 1996. Shortly after their marriage, the couple relocated to Fayetteville, GA from Hartford Connecticut. In 2014, Bob and Shirley move to their retirement home in Sun City Peachtree, Griffin, GA.

Bob enjoyed traveling, dancing, swimming, and playing card games, especially bid whist. Bob loved all the sports! While he never played football, he was a die heart Cowboys fan. He watched the games in full Cowboy paraphernalia; hat, jersey, and blanket with his drinking cup in hand. His greatest love was bowling, he played with two senior leagues. He was a competitive bowler and his name is listed in the International Bowling Museum’s Hall of Fame in Arlington, Texas, for scoring the highest among senior competitors. Bob also received two National Championship rings, he proudly showed off to family and friends.

Bob also enjoyed working with kids, especially those who were physically challenged. He was the first to sign up to volunteer with the Special Olympics and the Atlanta Road Race. 

Bob was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and great grandfather. He is survived by his wife, Shirley, daughters, Roban Hines (Carl), Coatesville, PA, Kimberly Nutter, Hartford, CT; one son, Robert Nutter, Jr., Washington, DC; Sister, Marsha Williams (Thurman), Coatesville, PA. Shirley’s Adult Children, Brian Sebastian, Los Angeles, Yvonne Sebastian, Atlanta, GA, and Craig Sebastian, Hamden. CT; Grandchildren: Shawn Nutter, Jonathan Nutter, and Carl Hines, Jr., Justin Sebastian (Tamara), Christian Walls, Avery Sebastian, Brandon Sebastian, Bryce Sebastian, Brianna Sebastian, and the late Jordan Sebastian. Ten Great Grandchildren and one niece, Jenine Winters, Parkesburg, PA.

Visitation will be Friday, December 6, 2019 from 10:00 am until 11:00 am at Conner-Westbury Funeral Home. A memorial service will follow at 11:00 am in the chapel of Conner-Westbury Funeral Home. Reverend Shirley Bridges will officiate.
