Samuel Darrell “Sammy” Murphy, age 59 of Griffin, passed away on Monday, October 1, 2018 at WellStar Spalding Hospital.
Sammy was born in Griffin on July 7, 1959. He is preceded in death by his father, Glenn Murphy, his mother, Marlene Lynch Crawford. Sammy was a former National Guardsman and was employed as a truck driver with Collins Trucking Company.
Sammy is survived his companion, Shirley Miller; son, Wesley Murphy; daughter, Crystal Holdcroft, husband, Joe and their children, Olivia, Savannah and Alley; brother, Scotty Murphy, wife Sue; nephew, Scott.
A visitation for Sammy Murphy will be Wednesday, October 3, 2018 from 6:00 pm until 8:00 pm at Conner-Westbury Funeral Home. It was Sammy’s wishes to be cremated following the visitation, no formal service be held.
