Sara English Preston

Mrs. Sara Elizabeth English Preston, age 97 of Duluth, formerly of Griffin, passed away on Thursday February 21, 2019.  

Mrs. Preston was born in Lamar County on November 8, 1921. She is preceded in death by her parents, Robert Lee English and Ida Mae Gulledge English; her husband, Talmadge Franklin Preston; her sisters, Lerelene McElheney, Trudie Kinard, Kitty Smith, Myrtice Goen and Lena Queen; brothers, Emmett English, Leonard English, Brown English and Robbie English. She retired from the St. Joe Credit Union, was a member of the V.F.W. Ladies Auxiliary; a member of Rock Springs Church.

Survivors include her daughter, Yvonne Benefield; granddaughter, Pam Butler and husband Scott; grandson, Brian Benefield and wife Cecilie; great-granddaughter, Blythe Butler; many nieces, nephews and great nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be Sunday, March 3, 2019 from 1:00 pm until 2:00 pm at Conner-Westbury Funeral Home, with a funeral service following in the Chapel. Dr. Benny Tate will officiate.  Interment will follow in Westwood Gardens.
