Mrs. Ruth Webb Muse, 97 passed away on February 5, 2020 at Brightmoor Hospice in Griffin.
Mrs. Muse was born on July 26, 1922 in Hazzard, Kentucky, she moved to East Point, Georgia as a child where she spent most of her adult life until she moved to Griffin in 1976. She is preceded in death by her husband, Murray Muse; her parents, Ed and Ella Webb; sons-in-laws, Mike Carothers and Jimmy Sewell. Ruth was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother. She was an active member of New Salem Baptist Church working in church programs and participating in church events until health issues prohibited her from doing so. Ruth retired from Sears, Roebuck & Co. as an Assistant Personnel Director, and enjoyed her retirement years doing the things that she loved.
She is survived by daughters, Patricia Muse Sewell and Mary (Dutch) Carothers; grandchildren, Jennifer Sewell Nelson (Todd), Jake Sewell (Angel), Lee Carothers, Leslie Carothers Womble (Rob); great-children, Jessica Sewell Johnson (Brent), Josh Sewell, Tyler Sewell, Michael Leland Carothers, III, Sarah Elizabeth Carothers, Rachel Nelson, Kaitlyn Nelson, Lela Kinnett, Murray Kinnett, Georgia Womble and great-great-grandson Maddox Sewell; several nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be on Monday, February 10, 2020 from 1:00 pm until 2:00 pm at Conner-Westbury Funeral Home with a funeral service to follow in the Chapel. Pastor Gene Luke will officiate; Interment will be at Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens in College Park, Ga.
