Sarah Lee Kirkley Ray age, 80 of Molena, Georgia passed away on Sunday, January 22, 2023 at her daughter’s home in Thomaston.

Sarah was born on May 29, 1942 in Columbus, Mississippi. She is preceded in death by her parents, William Dayton Kirkley and Johnnie Eunice Poore Kirkley; sisters, Willie Jewel Greason, Geraldine Lamar Hoppe, Francis Elizabeth Fairbanks.
Sarah was very independent and she faced life with extraordinary courage to raise her 5 children on her own. She faithfully worked countless jobs to make sure her children had what they needed. Sarah was a beautiful and talented artist and profound poet. 
The ocean and beach was her place of serenity. She deeply loved her children but she also had a gracious and generous spirit that blessed anyone who knew her. She had a way of making everyone feel special and loved. Her grandchildren brought her so much happiness. Even though her earthly journey is now complete, we know in Heaven we will see her again. 
Mrs. Ray is survived by her children, Tony Ray, Susan Dempsey and fiancé, Andre Rodriguez, Scottie (Meredith) Ray, Michael (Sharon) Ray, Mandy Jo Boyt; grandchildren, Aubrey Ray, Zachary Ray and fiancé Sarah, Annelise Ray, Olivia Ray, Ansley (Maury) Morgan, Ashton (Steven) Perkins, Kyle (Alesha) Dempsey, Kevin Dempsey, Kellie Ray, Kodie Perry and fiancé Callie Guy; great grandchildren, Kyrie, Macie Jo, Kinzlee June, Brooklynn, Ellie Clements, James Wyatt Dempsey, Charlotte Renee Dempsey; brother, Donald Joseph Kirkley.

A visitation for Sarah Lee Kirkley Ray will be on Saturday, January 28, 2023 from 1:00 pm until 3:00 pm at Conner-Westbury Funeral home. Following the visitation, a celebration of life service will follow at 3:00 pm in the Chapel of
Conner-Westbury.
