Sherell Cheek

Mrs. Sherell Banks Cheek, age 75 of Griffin, passed away on Tuesday, October 9, 2018 at Brightmoor Hospice.

Mrs. Cheek was born on June 1, 1943 in Griffin, Georgia. She is preceded in death by her parents, James D. Banks and Nancy Holcomb Banks; her husband, Harlen Cheek, Sr.; brother, Olin Banks and twin sister, Shirley Padgett. She was a Barber at Storey’s Barber Shop for many years; a member of Oak Hill Baptist Church. 

Mrs. Cheek is survived by her children, Nancy Walraven and husband Scott, Harlen Cheek, Jr. and wife Kori; grandchildren, Cody Ann Walraven, Isaac Walraven, Danny Cheek; brothers, Dan Banks; Pete Banks; several nieces and nephews.

A visitation for Mrs. Sherell Cheek will be Friday, October 12, 2018 from 11:00 am until 12:00 pm at Conner-Westbury Funeral Home. Following the visitation, a memorial service will be in the Chapel of Conner-Westbury with Minister Don Banks and Dr. Randy Valimont officiating. Interment will be in Oak Hill Cemetery.
