Sherrill Don Brooks

Mr. Sherrill Don Brooks, Sr. age 82 of Griffin, Georgia passed away Monday, October 5, 2020 at his residence in Griffin GA surrounded by his loved ones.
 
Mr. Brooks was born in Troy, Alabama on May 18, 1938. He is preceded in death by his parents James Marion Brooks and Opie Agnes Kelley Brooks, along with siblings and in laws, Gladys Spivey and Horase, Damon and Essie Brooks, Emma Grace and Hillis Gardner, Herman Brooks, Huey Brooks, Max Boutwell. Mr. Brooks was a member and past master of Masonic Lodge # 709 in Riverdale. He was a member of Carver Road Baptist Church. Mr. Brooks was retired from Sears and Roebucks and was a former veteran of the United States Army Reserves.
 
Survivors include his wife of 58 years, Sara Brooks, children and their spouses, Donna and Michael Lambert, Delonie Brooks, Sherrill Don Brooks, Jr. and Sherrilon, grandchildren and spouses, Justin and Samantha Worley, Kayla and Michael Smith, Kelsey and Bill Tew, Victoria Durham, Donnie Brooks; great grandchildren, Shaylee Mae Smith, Dalton Smith, Liam Smith, Johnathan Tew, Emaline Worley; sister Felicia Boutwell and in-laws,  Rita Jane Brooks, Nannette Brooks; many nieces and nephews spread across the country.
Visitation will be on Thursday, October 8th, 2020 from 10:00 am to 11:00 am at Conner Westbury Funeral Home, Griffin, GA. Followed by a Homegoing Celebration of Life to be held in the chapel. Mr. Brooks’ final resting place will be at Green Hills Memorial Garden in Troy, Alabama.  Service at 4:00 pm CST. Reverend Earl Pirkle and Woody Ussery will officiate. In lieu of flowers, the family ask that you please contribute to the Gideon’s International in memory of Sherrill Don Brooks, Sr.
