Shirley Ann Davison

Shirley Ann Davison was born on June 30, 1954 in Meansville, GA to the late Booker T. and Ora Elizabeth Akins. 
 
She attended school in the Lamar County School System and graduated from Lamar County High School. Then, she received her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Gordon State College.
 
Shirley was united in holy matrimony to the love of her life, the late Tony Charles Davison on September 9, 1991. The Davisons held marriage to the highest regard which they exhibited in their nearly 23 years of marriage. Shirley was a loving wife, mother and grandmother who cherished family.
 
Shirley worked tirelessly in the medical field. She retired from Pine Woods Behavioral Health Crisis Center in 2018 where she was the Director of Nursing. Before the 15 years she spent with Pine Woods, she worked as a Registered Nurse for Brightmoor and Peachtree Hospices. During her time with hospice she became a big supporter of the American Cancer Society’s Relay for Life. Shirley also worked as a RN for several emergency rooms across the metro-Atlanta and Macon areas. 
 
Shirley is survived by her children Michelle Lindsey, Brian Lindsey, Brittany (Zachary) Ruff, Ti’miya Davison and Tiara Davison, her grandchildren Brianecia (Quez) Johnson, Diondria McClendon, Jamiya Lindsey and NaDerricka Haygood and her great-grandchildren Zachary Ruff, III and Bailee Ruff. Also her siblings Mattie Rucker, Wyomie Dixon, Ionie Searcy, Arthur (Claudette) Akins, Brenda Akins, Evaline Akins, Connie Akins and sister-in-laws and brother-in-laws Dorothy (Johnny) Cunningham, Christine Davison, JD (Valerie) Davison, Jr., Kenneth Davison, Michelle (Bruce) Lyons, and Paul (Chandra) Davison
 
Shirley was preceded in death by her husband Tony Charles Davison, her parents Booker T. and Ora Akins and her brother Hilton Akins.
A visitation for Shirley Davison will be Thursday, February 18, 2021 from 6:00 pm until 8:00 pm at Conner-Westbury Funeral Home. A funeral service will be on Friday, February 19, 2021 at 1:00 pm in the Chapel of Conner-Westbury Funeral Home. Reverend Ronnie Akins will officiate. Interment will follow in Oak Hill Cemetery.
