Mrs. Shirley H. Ellison, age 82 of Griffin, Georgia passed away on Saturday, April 8, 2017 at Brightmoor Hospice.

Mrs. Ellison was born March 11, 1935 in Alabama. She is preceded in death by parents, Henry Huffman and Pearl Massengale Huffman; husband, Vernon Ellison; brothers, Hollis Huffman and Charles Huffman. Mrs. Ellison graduated from Spalding High School in 1951. She retired from the University of Georgia Experiment Station in Griffin in 1997 after working 26 years in the accounting office. She was a life-long member of the Vaughn United Methodist Church.

She is survived by daughter; Pamela Ellison of Jamul, CA; Son, Hank Ellison and his wife Rosanne, along with their children Sean and Sarah, of Grosse Ile, Michigan; sisters, Joyce Bennett of Griffin, GA and Willene Jimmerson of Hampton, GA; several nieces and nephews.

A visitation for Mrs. Shirley Ellison will be held Thursday, June 1, 2017 from 5:00 pm until 6:00 pm at Conner-Westbury Funeral Home. Following the visitation a memorial service will be at 6:00 pm in the Chapel of Conner-Westbury Funeral Home.
