Tribute

Steven Lee Taylor, age 50, of Griffin, passed away on Thursday, May 27, 2021 at his home.

Mr. Taylor was born in Atlanta, Georgia on August 29, 1970.  He is preceded in death by his father, Uno Taylor and his nephew, Travis Arnold. He was employed by Georgia Tech at CEISMC (Center for Education Integrating Science, Mathematics, and Computing) since 2004, most recently as their Communications Manager. Steven was a creative person who enjoyed painting and creating sculptures with found and natural objects. He was in a few different bands in earlier years, the most recent being Rhinoctopus, an experimental electronic band with his wife Paige and close friend Gabe Hines. He was also a science and history buff, enjoying documentaries on World War II, the Civil War, astronomy, space travel, and physics. The Star Wars series was one of his favorites, and his t-shirt collection clearly evidenced that. Steven dearly loved animals, especially his dog Cosmo, cat Mazzy, and two pigs, Ham Solo and Chewbacon. Being outdoors in nature was always a meditative and spiritual experience for him. He was a generous soul who always wanted to take care of everyone else. His sense of humor was quirky and dry, and it made him happy to make those around him smile. He always made sure his family and friends knew he loved them.

Steven is survived by his wife, Paige Howell Taylor; mother Pauline Mullins Taylor; sister Kathy Taylor Duke and her husband, Brian; niece and nephews Kyley Jewel Lalumiere; Michael Arnold; John Taylor Whatley and his wife, Ashley; Adam Whatley; Mason and Jack Lalumiere; Brian Arnold and his wife, Kim; Bryce Arnold; Bella, James, and Rhett Buck; Noah and Jacob Knighton; aunt Sandy Mullins Hylton; uncle John Taylor and his wife, Merike; aunt Mickey Pierce and her husband, Jack; aunt Jaretta Bly; cousins Mike Gill; Kelly Wright Gates; Timothy John Taylor; Trevor Pierce; Travis Pierce; Chris Mullins; Connie Mullins Hanning; Linda Mullins Nelson; David Mullins; Richard Mullins; Jimmy Vance; in-laws Diane and Gill Lalumiere, and Randy and Suzanne Howell; sister-in-law Christie Arnold and her husband, Larry; sister-in-law Erin Gossett; brother-in-law Ken Lalumiere and his wife, Jessica; sister-in-law Carolyn Buck and her husband, Stephen; brother-in-law David Knighton and his wife, Kayla;  and many other beloved family members too numerous to count.
