Sylvia Anne Negron, age 77, of Griffin, Georgia, passed away Friday, March 9, 2018.
Sylvia was born in Barnesville, Georgia on March 22, 1940. She is preceded in death by her parents, Grover Cleveland Piper and Myrtice Emmett Piper; first husband, Ronald Jackson Weldon. She was retired from the Department of Defense at Fort McPherson as a Management Analyst and Command. Sylvia was Valedictorian and lettered in high school basketball. She was a published writer who loved poetry, writing, her pets, and art. She is a member of Peachtree Baptist Church.
She is survived by her husband, Alvin Lou Negron; sons, Danny Weldon and wife
Cherri of Griffin, Chris Weldon and wife Kyla of Cumming, Georgia, Jeff Weldon and wife Anne of Peachtree City; grandchildren, Allison Busbin and husband Will, Taylor Gustafson and husband Michael, Jackson Weldon, Walker Weldon, Duffy Weldon, Gracie Weldon, Ella Weldon; great-grandchildren, Luke Busbin, Allie Grace Busbin; sister, Gail Hood and husband Jack of Cedartown, Georgia; several nieces and nephews.
A visitation for Sylvia Anne Negron will be Tuesday, March 13, 2018 from 1pm until 2pm at Peachtree Baptist Church in Senoia. Following the visitation, a funeral service will be conducted with Dr. David W. Dickerson officiating. Interment will follow in Lamar Memory Gardens.
