Terri Lynn Metzger Young

Terri Lynn Young (Metzger), age 64 of Griffin, Georgia passed away Saturday, February 20, 2021 at WellStar Spalding Hospital. 
Terri was born in Fort Campbell, Kentucky on December 7, 1956. She is preceded in death by her father, Daniel Floyd Metzger. She was a member of Mt. Zion United Methodist Church, Griffin Moose Lodge # 1503, American Legion Unit # 50, DAV chapter # 19 (Elkhart), and an avid Georgia Bulldog Fan.  She graduated from Elkhart Central High School, in 1975.
Survivors include her daughters, Andrea Dawson-McAlpin, Sarah Dawson; grandson, Ryan Daniel Dawson; her mother, Audrey Metzger; sisters, Susan Metzger and Wendy Metzger.  She also leaves behind many relatives and dear friends that will miss her.
Terri had an infectious smile and exquisite personality.  She dedicated her life to helping others.  She enjoyed crafts, event planning, decorating and the beach.  She cherished the many times she spent with Mike Conley at his Florida condo and being co-pilot in his aircraft.
Visitation will be Saturday, February 27, 2021 from 12:00 pm until 1:00 pm at Conner-Westbury Funeral Home. Followed by a funeral service in the chapel. Reverend Wade Corley will officiate.  Conner-Westbury Funeral Home, 1891 W. McIntosh Rd, Griffin is in charge of arrangements.
A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, March 6 at 3:00 pm at DAV chapter 19 in Elkhart, Indiana.
