Tribute

Mrs. Thelma Mask Williamson, age 89 of Griffin, passed away Wednesday, June 26, 2019 at Westbury Health and Rehab in McDonough, Georgia.

Mrs. Williamson was born on December 6, 1929 to the late Eugene and Dessa Dawkins Mask in Forsyth, Georgia. She is also preceded in death by her husband, JD Williamson; her siblings, Boyce Mask, Durwood Mask, Hollis Mask, Glynn Mask, Francis Hunt, Louise Johnson, Imogene Dukes, Marie Allen; brother-in-law, Guy “Tuffy” Williamson; sister and brother-in-law, Rosie and Pete Jones; son-in-law, Oscar “Jr” Taylor; great-grandson, Coleman Taylor.

She worked as a school crossing guard and patrol lady for many years. She helped operate Silver Skates Roller Rink, a family business and was a Pharmacy Tech at Eckerd Drug Store. She enjoyed skating, working in the yard, gardening, being outside and taking care of her family.

She is survived by her daughters, Susan Williamson Taylor and Dale Williamson Danner; grandchildren, Lance Taylor and wife Meg, Drew Taylor and wife Anna, Mandi Danner Wood and husband Matt, and Dustin Danner; great grandchildren, Madison, Ty, Gaines and Catharine Taylor and Mayson Wood; son-in-law, George Danner; brother-in-law, Ronnie Williamson; sisters-in-law, Sherry Williamson, Betty Williamson; nieces and nephews, Randy Williamson and wife Dana, Todd Williamson and wife Susan, Tim Williamson and wife Melanie, Greg Williamson and wife Tamie, Kim Santerre, Mike Williamson, Rosemary Brown and husband John, Mickey Jones and wife Lisa, Tony Jones and wife Darlene; many great nieces and nephews.

The family would like to thank her caregivers at Brightmoor Nursing Center in Griffin and Westbury Health and Rehab in McDonough.

A visitation will be Saturday, June 29, 2019 from 11:00 am until 12:00 pm at Conner Westbury Funeral Home, with a funeral service following in the Chapel. Reverend John Nance will officiate. Interment will follow at Oak Hill Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to the Alzheimer’s Foundation of America: 322 Eight Ave., 16th Floor New York, NY 10001.
