Chief Master Sargent Thomas Larry Tuggle, retired, age 79 of Griffin, Georgia passed away Saturday, December 1, 2018 at Wellstar Spalding Hospital.

Larry was born on May 19, 1939. He is preceded in death by parents, John Thomas Tuggle and Mary McDowell Tuggle; sister-in-law, June Tuggle. Larry faithfully served in the Air Force for 28 years, achieving the rank of Chief Master Sargent, the highest rank achievable as an enlisted air force member. He was a craftsman who was great with woodworking and could build anything, he loved gardening, cooking, fishing, and helping others. One of Larry’s favorite times of the year was Spring because he could start working in his vegetable garden. He also loved Christmas because it is a time to celebrate giving and spend time with family. Larry valued family above all else and it is because of this belief that he leaves the legacy of a strong, loving family.

Survivors include his wife of 60 years, Nancy Harrison Tuggle; daughters, Lori (Curt) Gerken, Tina (Fred) Corbin; grandchildren, Ashley Gerken, Jacob Gerken, and Sydney Gerken, Tyler (Lindsay) Corbin, Cy Corbin, Lauren (Jordan) Villhauer, Emily Corbin, Anna Corbin, Cal Corbin, Caroline Corbin, Clark Corbin, Cole Corbin, Cooper Corbin; great-grandchild, Hudson Villhauer; brothers, Mickey (Margie) Tuggle, Danny Tuggle; several nieces and nephews.

Visitation for Larry will be Tuesday, December 4, 2018 from 6:00 pm until 8:00 pm at Conner-Westbury Funeral Home. A celebration of life service will be Wednesday, December 5, 2018 at 11:00 am in the Sanctuary of Southside Baptist Church. Dr. Mark Sellers and Reverend Wendell Banks will officiate. Interment will follow in Westwood Gardens.
