Mrs. Vada Beatrice Coates, age 81 of Griffin, Georgia passed away on Tuesday, October 31, 2017.  

Mrs. Coates was born in Oconee County, Georgia on April 20, 1936. She is preceded in death by her mother, Vada Florene Lowry; her husband, John Dennis Coates. She was retired from Georgia Baptist Children’s Home, was a loving wife, mother and Maw-Maw to her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

She is survived by; daughter Denise Simmons and husband Clay; son in law Bobby Ogletree, wife Theresa; grandchildren and spouses, Lori and Stan Starr, Christy and Nathan Mooneyham, Brian and Melissa Ogletree, Jonathan Simmons; great grandchildren, Anna, Austin, Ava, Caitlin, Ethan, Maycee, Owen, Logan, Mason, Olivia; grand Goddaughter, Kristin Chester, husband Sam; special friends, Joe and Gay Grubbs; special nieces and nephews.

A visitation for Mrs. Vada Coates will be on Friday, November 3, 2017 from 6:00 pm until 8:00 pm at Conner-Westbury Funeral Home. A funeral service will be conducted on Saturday, November 4, 2017 at 11:00 am in the chapel of Conner-Westbury. Jeff Scutchfield will officiate. Interment will follow in Oak Hill Cemetery.
