Virginia Jean Brown

Virginia Jean Garza "Ginny" Brown, age 72 of Griffin, Georgia passed away Saturday, September 25, 2021 at Midnight. Mrs. Brown was originally from Hammond, Indiana.

Ginny was born on March 11, 1949 in Shawneetown, Illinois. She is preceded in death by her parents, James Garza and Helen Taylor Garza; sisters, Roxy and Dorothy; and brother, Carol Lewis. Ginny was married to Thomas Wayne Brown on December 30, 1985. She was also a graduate of Hammond Tech Vocational High School, class of 1968, in Hammond, Indiana. Ginny loved to fish and spend time at their camper and she enjoyed all her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Survivors include her husband, Thomas “Wayne” Brown; children, Diona (Fred) O’Neal of Hampton, Larry (Heidi) O’Dor of Paisley, FL and Babette (Russell) Reid of Williamson, GA; stepchildren, Thomas (Elva) Brown of Mt. City, TX, Gregory (Lillian) Brown of Antonio, TX, Jose Brown of Waco, TX; brother, Vernon (Mary) Garza of Schererville, IN; sister-in-law, Carol Ann Lewis of Hobart, IN; 12 grandchildren, Brittini (Kyle) Mason, Brandon Peppin, Alyssa Peppin and Dawson Worthy all of Griffin. Marshal Edmondson and Mitchel Edmondson of Hampton, GA, Autumn O’Dor, Starr O’Dor, and Stormy O’Dor from FL. Breanna Brown, Annabel Brown and Nicholas Brown from TX; four great-granchildren, Pailey Peppin, Kylie Peppin, Grayson Worthy and Logan G. Mason.

Visitation for Ginny Brown will be Thursday, September 30, 2021 from 6:00 pm until 8:00 pm at Conner-Westbury Funeral Home. A funeral service will be Friday, October 1, 2021 at 11:00 am in the Chapel of Conner-Westbury Funeral Home. Reverend Wade Corley will officiate. Interment will follow at Oak Hill Cemetery.
