Mrs. Virginia C. Forrester, affectionately called “Maw Maw” by her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, age 90 of Griffin, Georgia passed away on Thursday, January 11, 2018 at Eternal Hope Hospice.
Mrs. Forrester was born in Anderson, South Carolina on May 26, 1927. She is preceded in death by her husband, Burel D. Forrester, Sr.; infant son, Marcus C. Forrester; parents, Cranford H. Church, Sr. and Della Jane Church; brothers, Cranford H. Church, Jr. and wife Dorothy, Jerry A. Church. She was an active member of DeVotie Baptist Church, faithfully serving in the Bond of Love Sunday School Class, the WMU and the Joy Group. She experienced many joyful times with family and friends at Leisure Woods Park in Hiawassee.
She is survived by, daughters and sons in law, Donna Ann and Jim Rector, Jane and Frankie Taylor; son and daughter in law, Dee and Denise Forrester; grandchildren and great-grandchildren, Lee, Blair, Madison and Harrison Peeples; Lance, Julie, Della and Zoie Peeples; Tabetha and Jonathan Landrum, Ayden, Caiden, Landon and Maddie; Shelby and Shane Bunn and Ava; Chris, Crystal, Caitlyn, Caleb, Conner and Chloe Taylor; Carmen, Alex, Will and Jackson Forrester; Chad, Carol and McClain Taylor; Morgan and Cole Kennedy; Leland Ellis; sister in law, Joy Church; nieces and nephews.

A visitation for Mrs. Virginia C. Forrester will be on Saturday, January 13, 2018 from 5 pm until 8 pm at Conner-Westbury Funeral Home. A funeral service will be conducted on Sunday, January 14, 2018 at 2 pm in the Chapel of Conner-Westbury Funeral Home. Reverend Don McMurry will officiate. Interment will follow in Oak Hill Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to DeVotie Baptist Church, designated to the Joy Group or bus fund, 1355 Experiment St. Griffin, GA 30223.
