Virginia C. Shivers

Virginia ”Collette” Davis Shivers, 91, of Oro Valley, Arizona, formerly of Griffin, Georgia, passed away Tuesday, April 9, 2024.

Collette was born in Molena, Georgia on May 21, 1932. She was preceded in death by her husband, Odis Wilson Shivers, parents Isaac Hudson Davis and Mary Edith Pitts Davis and siblings Ezelle Reynolds, Mildred Marshall, Lamar Davis, and Jane Moss.

Collette is survived by children Wendell Shivers (Teresa) of Tucson, AZ and Crystal Shivers of Oro Valley AZ, grandchildren Bryan Shivers (Peccina), Andrea Gross (Brian) of Tucson, AZ and great grandsons Ronny Gross and Brice Gross of Tucson, AZ. Great granddaughter, Amelia Shivers, is expected in July 2024. Collette is also survived by sister Sybil Moore of Barnesville, GA. She is also survived by several nieces, nephews and cousins including cousin Betty Buchanan of Barnesville, GA and niece, Barbara Ann Holcomb of Woodbury, GA.

Collette married Odis on her 18th birthday, May 21, 1950. They were married for 54 years. After traveling the world as an Army wife, Collette raised her family in Columbus, GA. After the death of Odis, Collette lived in Stockbridge and Alpharetta, GA. She moved with her daughter to Arizona in 2019.

Visitation for Collette will be at Conner-Westbury Funeral Home on Friday, April 19, 2024, from 1:30 pm until 3:00 pm with graveside services immediately following at Oak Hill Cemetery.
