Walter Louis Rainey, age 80 of Jackson, Georgia passed away on Wednesday, February 7, 2018 at his residence.

He was born on May 15, 1937 in Griffin, Georgia. He is preceded in death by his parents, James Byrd Rainey and Myrtle Gladys Rivers Rainey.

Mr. Rainey was a Veteran of the United States Army, having served in Korea, Vietnam, and Desert Storm. He retired, as a Mechanical Engineer with Dundee Mills and was a member of Rock Springs Church.

He is survived by his wife, Susie Reeves Rainey; children, Mark Jones and wife June, Flint Jones, Lisa Rainey, Tim Rainey; several grandchildren nieces and nephews.

A visitation for Walter Louis Rainey, will be Monday, February 12, 2018 from 1:00 pm until 1:30 pm at Conner-Westbury Funeral Home. Following the visitation, a Graveside service will follow at Oak Hill Cemetery, 797 Memorial Drive, Griffin, Georgia.
