William Paul Goins

Mr. William “Bill” Paul Goins, age 71, of Griffin, GA passed away peacefully at Eternal Hope Hospice on Saturday, December 8, 2018, surrounded by loved ones.
Mr. Goins was born September 13, 1947 in Natchez, MS and spent his formative years in New Orleans, LA. He is preceded in death by parents, William “Will” Walter Goins and Rebecca “Becky” Goins Riddle; brother, Walter “Wayne” Goins. He served in the United States Air Force and was stationed at Cannon Air Force Base in Clovis, NM, where he met his wife and soulmate, Paula, before deploying to Bien Hoa, Vietnam with the 90th Tactical Fighter Squadron. Mr. Goins retired from Delta Air Lines after 31 years as a mechanic in the ground support equipment and electronics shops. He was a talented artist, musician and craftsman who found joy in fishing, skiing, learning and being creative. He was a kind and wonderful man who loved to spend time with family and friends. He will be dearly missed by all who knew him.

Survivors include his wife, Paula Greathouse Goins; children and spouses, Christopher Paul Goins and Terri; Shelley Goins Reeves and Chris; grandchildren, Zoe and Levi Goins; sister-in-law, Jeannie Goins; nephews, David & Michael Goins; Kelly Reape, whom he loved like a daughter; and extended family.

Visitation for Mr. William Paul Goins will be Friday, December 14, 2018 from 6:00 pm until 8:00 pm at Conner-Westbury Funeral Home. Mr. Goins had requested his visitation be informal. Flowers are welcome, or in lieu of flowers, Mr. Goins requested contributions be made to the American Cancer Society Hope Lodge Winn-Dixie Campus, Decatur, GA; or any non-profit of your choice; and that you consider being an organ donor.
