Mr. William Calvin Moore age 84 of Griffin passed away, Saturday, October 5, 2019 at Brightmoor Nursing Home.
Mr. Moore was born in Pike County, Georgia on August 9, 1935. He is preceded in death by his father Lester Moore, his mother Lorena Rogers, and his daughter Jeanette Moore. He coached many sports throughout his lifetime and had a great impact on the youth of the community. He also loved Atlanta Braves baseball, and the Georgia Bulldogs. He worked at The K-Mart distribution center for many years and became friends with Alan Jackson which fueled a love for country music in his later years. Mr. Moore attended North Griffin Congregational Holiness Church with his wife.
Survivors include his wife, Pat Moore; children Billy and wife Bonnie Moore; grandchildren Rene’ and Danny Grant, Tanya and Jason Jackson; Great grandchildren, Austin Grant, Isaac Grant, Trace Jackson, Kalli Jackson; Great nephew Ian Grant.
Visitation will be Monday, October 7, 2019 from 6:00 pm until 8:00 pm at the Conner-Westbury Funeral Home. The funeral will be Tuesday, October 8, 2019 at 2:00 pm in the Chapel of Conner-Westbury Funeral Home. Reverend Gene Luke will officiate.
