William Perkins Pearson

William Perkins Pearson, age 90, of Williamson, Georgia passed away on Sunday, May 30, 2021 at his home.

Mr. Pearson was born in Orlando, Florida on July 1, 1930. He is preceded in death by his first wife of 52 years, Frances I Pearson, his parents, Usher Thomas Pearson and Hessie Pearl Pearson, brothers, Hughlon Pearson, James Pearson and Tommy Pearson.

Mr. Pearson served as a Sergeant in the U.S. Army as a paratrooper during the Korean War and later worked as a truck driver for Roadway Express for many years. He was a loving husband, a kind and compassionate father and grandfather. He loved working on puzzles and always had some candy for the little ones (or maybe himself).

He is survived by his wife of 16 years, Tommie Louise Pearson; his children, Debbie Brooks, Lisa Mayfield (Edward), Sherry Turpin, Joseph H. Shelby Jr. (Margaret), David E. Shelby (Paula); his grandchildren, Brent Williams, Courtney Keller (Drew), Courtney Hayden (Kurt), Chad Mayfield (Marissa), Catherine Roundfield, Kristie Watkins (Chris), Jennifer Shelby, Summer Stubbs, Alex Adams, and Ansley Turpin; his great grandchildren, Bryce & Eli Williams, Coty Dobbs, Kyle Keller, Skylar, Bailey and Grayson Hayden, Casey & Colton Mayfield, Caden & Cabot Roundfield, Hannah, Jeremiah & Eleanor Watkins, Esme Shelby, and Cohen Stubbs.

Visitation for Mr. Pearson will be on Friday, June 4, 2021 from 11:00 am-12:00 p.m. at Conner-Westbury Funeral Home. A graveside service will follow at Hillandale Memorial Gardens in Lithonia, Georgia.
