Mrs. Euretha Yvette Kelley, age 61 of Griffin, Georgia passed away on Monday, June 5, 2017 at her residence.

Yvette was born at a military base in Tripoli, Libya on January 5, 1956 while her father was serving our country both in Libya and Greece. She is preceded in death by her parents, James Edward Butler and Bettie Taylor Butler. Yvette was raised in a military home having traveled abroad with her parents as a child. She was a Registered Nurse for over 35 years including service as a Hospice nurse in Tampa, FL and since 1991, in Griffin, GA. For many years, Yvette was a strong advocate for the Relay for Life in Griffin until recently when she was no longer able to do so. She assisted family and friends as they struggled with cancer while she personally fought this dreaded disease for over 25 years. Personal donations to the cause, along with those from family, friends and her husband’s coworkers at Delta Air Lines made her the top individual fundraiser for the RFL in Griffin almost every year she was involved in the event. Yvette loved her family deeply and loved spending time at the beach. During this past year, her family made sure she was able to spend a week or more almost every month at the family condo on Panama City Beach.

She is survived by her husband, James Kelley; daughters, April French, Shannon Corley and husband Joshua; grandchildren, Sarah French, Anna Leigh Corley, Rowen Corley, and Tristan French; brother, Arthur Butler; several nieces and nephews.

Visitation for Mrs. Yvette Kelley will be on Thursday, June 8, 2017 from 6:00 pm until 8:00 pm at Conner-Westbury Funeral Home. A Funeral service will be conducted on Friday, June 9, 2017 at 6:00 pm in the Chapel of Conner-Westbury Funeral Home. Warren Rogers will officiate.

A private burial service will be conducted in the Sumatra Cemetery in Sumatra, Florida on Monday, June 12, 2017 at 10 am. The graveside arrangements in Florida will be handled by Kelley Funeral Home. 149 Avenue H Apalachicola, FL 32320. Reverend Charles Scott will officiate. In lieu of flowers donations can also be made to Eternal Hope Hospice of Griffin.
