Mrs. Emma Jean May age 59, of Griffin, passed away Tuesday, February 21, 2017 at her residence

Mrs. May was born in Anniston, Alabama on May 18, 1957. She is preceded in death by her parents, Roy and Kittie Deramus Smith; husband Ronald May and brother Ronnie Smith.

She is survived by her daughters Corie Carpenter and her husband Billy of Griffin and Shelia Shepherd and her husband Bill of Griffin; grandchildren Caleb Carpenter of Griffin, Jacob Carpenter of Griffin, Tyler Shepherd of Griffin, Brianna Ring of Duluth and Jessica Shepherd of Griffin; sister Charlotte Parker of Griffin; brothers Roy Smith, Jr. and his wife Libby of Sunnyside, Joe Smith and his wife Sarah of Milner and Garry Smith of Jonesboro.

Mrs. May’s request was to be cremated and no services are planned at this time.
