Nita & family, CoCo and I were so sorry to hear of your loss. We were out-of-town over weekend and unable to attend services. Larry was a wonderful example of what a well respected Policeman means to a community. He served the city well for many years. Our thoughts and prayers are with you all. May God bless each of you.

Captain Howard was a well-respected member of the Griffin Police Department. I have heard many nice remarks about him made by my Daddy, the late Leo Blackwell, who was Chief of Police for a number of years. Your Dad/Granddad was a good person.

Keith,
Neal and I just learned of your father's death from the posting on Facebook. I did not actually know him, but since I worked for the County and Neal worked for DOT and had some interaction with the City police, we do feel he was an acquaintance. I know this is difficult for all of you, but we are very sorry for your loss. We are thinking of you and your family and will be praying for you.

Larry Howard was one of the finest Police Officers and finest human beings that I ever met in my life. I was pleased to appoint him to the head of the Uniformed Patrol Division knowing that I could rely on his wisdom, judgement, and knowledge of the law and the community. He was an essential part of the transition of the department into the modern era with updated equipment and methods. I was very proud to have known him and Miss "Nita". He will be not only missed by his family but also the Griffin Community. May he find peace at he rides his "motor" on the streets of heaven. GOSPEED him on his journey to the next life.
