Mrs. Nancy Ann Kilgore Smith, age 84, of Griffin, Georgia passed away Sunday, September 17, 2017 at Hope Center in Fayetteville.

Mrs. Smith was born in Columbus, Georgia on April 18, 1933 to Leonard and Lucille Kilgore.

Mrs. Smith was a member of New Salem Baptist Church and a 1950 graduate of Fayette County High School. She was employed at the Jayco Mill in Griffin and F.W. Woolworths in Griffin and later in Albany, GA. She was an avid crafter and won several awards for her needle crafting at the Spalding County Fair. An avid traveler, she visited 49 states and many European countries. Later in life, her passion for genealogy led her along with husband to compile a book detailing the history of the various cemeteries of Griffin and Spalding County. Her love and devotion to her family and friends is her most outstanding legacy.

Mrs. Smith is preceded in death by her husband, Mr. Benjamin Myles Smith, Jr., her parents, and her brother, Mr. Donald Kilgore of Fayetteville.

Survivors include her son, Mr. Myles Smith and Mr. Jay Castillo of Atlanta; siblings, Mrs. Martha Sue Thompson and Mr. Stewart Kilgore, both of Griffin; several nieces and nephews.

Visitation for Mrs. Nancy Smith will be on Wednesday, September 20, 2017 from 6:00pm until 8:00pm at Conner-Westbury Funeral Home. Funeral services will be conducted on Thursday, September 21, 2017 at 2:00 PM in the chapel of Conner Westbury Funeral Home. Reverend Mike Barnes will officiate. Interment will follow in Oak Hill Cemetery.
