Mr. Stephen “Tash” Tidwell, age 64 of Griffin, passed away on Friday, April, 11, 2014 at Spalding Regional Hospital.

Mr. Tidwell was born in Birmingham, Alabama on May 1, 1949. He is preceded in death by his parents, Joseph Ned Tidwell and Martha Virginia Thompson Tidwell.  Mr. Tidwell was a veteran of the United States Army having served during the Vietnam War. He former worked as a mechanic with Tom Davidson & Son.  He was a member of Vineyard Baptist Church, the Moose Lodge, the VFW Club and the Abate Motorcycle Club.

Survivors include his wife, Linda Atwell; daughter, Amber Tidwell Sharpton and husband, Tighe; sons, Sean Tidwell and wife, Brandy, Joseph Tidwell; 7 grandchildren; stepson, Michael, Miles and wife, Natalie; sisters, Virginia Watkins and Janice Boynton; several nieces and nephews.

Visitation for Mr. Stephen “Tash” Tidwell will be Monday, April 14, 2014 from 1:00pm until 2:00pm at Conner-Westbury Funeral Home.  Memorial services will follow visitation at 2:00pm in the Chapel of Conner-Westbury Funeral Home. Dr. Benny Tate will officiate. Following the chapel service the United States Army and Marine Corps League will provide military honors.
