I knew the Douglas family from working with Mrs. Douglas, Frances" mother, in the flower shop from the late 1960's. I was just out of high school and only 16 years old. So I became acquainted with all the siblings. I came to know Frances very well because she helped out on all the big floral holidays when we would be swamped with orders to be filled. As everyone who knew Frances would have to say, she was a very special person; a Christian lady for sure with a heart of love and compassion. She had a very dry wit about her. I enjoyed every moment I was privileged to be around her and she will surely be missed. Heaven has gained another precious soul.

The service today was a very nice tribute to Frances. But as we all know, one service could never really do her justice. She was quite an exceptional lady. Thank you for your comment and letting me know you are Millard's son. I remember all three of Frances' brothers but don't really remember their kids, except for Bobby's daughter who was about my age, but I can't remember her name. And I met Jodie several times before she had the relapse with the brain tumor. I drove Ms. Douglas to visit at Frances' and Rogers' home while Jodie lay in a coma, and then, a few months later, drove her to the funeral home. Such a sad time. Frances just knew God would heal Jodie, and I did, too. I had told Frances about God totally and instantaneously healing my father of TB in 1950, on the very day his doctors had given him up to die. But, it was not to be for precious Jodie. I am 68 years old now and my memories of working with and for the Douglas family will always be fondly remembered. I was as much a chauffeur as much as a floral designer. And all for $40 (gross) per week! But I enjoyed it all. Ms. Douglas was quite a character and I truly enjoyed my experiences. I wouldn't take anything for knowing them all.
